Naomi Morrison– Gold Interpretive
Hi, I’m Naomi Morrison! I’m 13 years old and I’ve been skating since I was 7. I’ve always loved to skate so much and am so happy that I’ve passed my Gold Interpretive. Before my interpretive program I was competing in the star program and never really liked competing with my solo. After I had the option of competing with an interpretive program I was very excited to try something new and now I love skating my program at competitions. I'm very proud of my interpretive solo. I have seen how having an artistic program has helped my skating skills and timing and I’m looking forward to see what I can do in the future with my program. I am very thankful to my coaches Leslee and Larry Rushton who have guided and led me to getting my gold. I literally couldn't have done it without them.

Madison Simoneau – Gold FreeSkate
Congratulations to Madison Simoneau on passing her Gold Freeskate in April 2019. Madison is 13 years old and has just finished grade 8 year in Victoria. She has been skating for 5 years and joined Juan de Fuca Skate club in September of 2015 and has been with them for 4 years. We are amazed with her dedication and determination that has taken her from a junior skater now beginning her journey as a Pre-novice competitor in such a short time. When she is not at the rink skating or helping with the Canskate program, she enjoys spending time with her family outside camping, biking or walking her dog Max . We know that with the continued support from her family, friends and coaches she will continue to grow and succeed. Let the adventures continue!

During the summer she likes to hang out at the lake, swimming and waterskiing with friends.
Shannon Mather started skating at age 9 and has skated ever since! She recently passed her Gold Skills Test in April 2014 and would like to thank her coach of 28 years Rae Anne Hesketh, for encouraging her to achieve skills that she didn’t know were possible.
Shannon balances her passion of skating with her Skate Canada Judging and feels this is an excellent way to give back to the skaters! Along with being a skater herself, Shannon is a Registered Massage Therapist and a Pilates Instructor to add to her fields of expertise.
Krystal Moore (Janicki) passed her Gold Skills in April 2014. Krystal started skating at the age of 6 and won many competitions along the way. Krystal is currently working on her Silver Interpretive and will continue to skate as long as possible! Krystal also thanks her long-time coach Rae Anne Hesketh along with her family and friends for their support and encouraging words for her to continue skating.

Blake has had the chance to skate and compete in many local competitions as well as skating in 4 Provincial StarSkate Championships.Completing his gold skills this past summer was a goal he set out for himself and achieved after working hard and believing he could master it! Blake is now in his first year at UVIC and is eager to take any opportunity to spend even just a few minutes on the ice enjoying what he likes to do most SKATE! Thanks to the Campbell River Skating Club for all the support and a special thanks to Blake’s coach Jannine Ranniger, who also believed he could do it! Blake would like to mention that without the love and support from his Mom and Dad none of this would have been possible!
Mairin was 8 years old when she joined the Canskate program with the Campbell River Skating Club and has loved it since the first day she cut an edge! Every year Mairin balances her sports both on and off the ice. In the spring, she participated in the provincial Track and Field Event and took part in the “Summer Provincial Games 2014” placing 7th in “Triple Jump” in the province! We are very proud of her!
